As a peer mentor at Rio Hondo College , Dylan volunteered over 300 hours working with incoming freshman and returning students. He was a sounding board for students issues and struggles. Dylan would help them in the planning of student schedules to ensure they were getting the proper classes. He showed them where to seek services and introduced students to other mentors and tutors so that they could create their own network of support. Dylan sent out weekly emails to inform students about upcoming events. He also assisted students with their personal statements in order to help them with applying for and being awarded scholarships.
